Christmas Greetings
Dear KZN Emmaus Community,
As we approach the festive season, we pause to reflect with gratitude on the year behind us.
It has been a journey marked by joy and disappointment, yet throughout it all God has
continued to guide us, shape us, and bless us with moments of growth and spiritual renewal.
One of the great joys of the year was the deeply meaningful Face to Face Encounter held at
Hilton Methodist Church. Twenty-five pilgrims were blessed with four rich days in the
presence of Jesus, supported by a faithful and dedicated team who truly became the hands
and feet of Christ.
A significant disappointment, however, was the cancellation of the Walks and Flights. It
remains our sincere prayer that this will not happen again, and that the future will bring
renewed stability, participation, and spiritual fruit.
At the Sunrise Service during the closing of the EMSA AGM, Pastor Luke Powell delivered a
powerful message entitled:
✨ Dare to Dream Big ✨
He reminded us of an important truth:
If you do not have a dream, how will you ever see a dream come true?
Scripture teaches us:
“Where there is no vision, the people perish.” — Proverbs 29:18 (KJV)
God looks upon each of us with a divine dream in His heart:
That we may be saved, sanctified, and sustained.
That we may live victorious and joyful lives.
That we may use our gifts for His purposes.
That we may live free from sin, filled with His Spirit, and become instruments of His
love in the world.
Three things to remember as we begin to dream:
1. Do Not Limit God
“Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine…”
— Ephesians 3:20–21 (NIV)
God’s capacity exceeds our imagination. Therefore, let us dream boldly.
2. Do Not Sit Around
“There are dreamers… and there are doers.”
“Much dreaming and many words are meaningless.” — Ecclesiastes 5:7 (NIV)
Dreams become reality when we commit ourselves to the work.
3. Do Not Become Despondent
Persevere — one day at a time, one step at a time.
Do not grow weary in pursuing the dreams God places within you.
✨ Let us not limit God — let us dream boldly for FULL Walks, Flights, and Encounters.
✨ Let us not sit still — let us serve faithfully and sponsor pilgrims with renewed commitment.
✨ Let us not grow weary — let us keep going, even when challenges arise. When the going
gets tough – the tough get going!
As an Emmaus family, let us pray for the KZN Board to dream courageously, and through the
love, support, and prayers of the community, may these dreams be brought to life.
A Challenge for the KZN Community
I have a question for you?
WOULD YOU BE WILLING TO BUY JESUS ONE CUP OF COFFEE A MONTH?
With the rising cost of providing a weekend away with Jesus, we invite community members
to consider contributing as little as R60 per month — the cost of one cup of coffee for you
and a friend.
If 200 members commit, the cost of an Emmaus event is halved.
If 400 members commit, the events become free for both team and pilgrims.
(Click on the ‘DEBIT ORDER FORM’ Link Below, print, complete and return) We are deeply grateful for the privilege of being part of this community — a place where faith,
fellowship, and love are shared generously. The Emmaus family has been a source of
strength, encouragement, and inspiration to the KZN Board, and the bonds formed among us
continue to be a blessing.
As we celebrate the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ, may we be reminded of the true heart of
Christmas: love, kindness, and selfless giving. May these values shape our lives long after
the season ends, and may our actions reflect the grace and compassion of God.
We pray that you and your loved ones will enjoy a blessed Christmas, filled with peace,
warmth, and joy. May the presence of God rest upon you in a profound and comforting way
during this season.
We look forward to the year ahead — a year full of possibility, hope, service, and new
opportunities for fellowship. May we continue to uplift one another, and may our community
shine brightly as a beacon of light in the world.
With love and blessings,
Nigel Warr & the KZN Community Board
