Prayerful Sponsorship
August 2024
Greetings friends,
There are many ways of giving to the Father and our neighbour. We give with our physical and spiritual gifts, but to me, the most precious gift we can offer is our time. We each have a limited amount of this precious commodity. None of us know how much we have or when it will run out. Only the Father knows these things.
As we grow in our faith and hope, we begin to realise just how important it is to be charitable with our time to our brothers and sisters in Christ. One of the best ways I have found to give to Christ and my neighbour is through the Emmaus programs.
I get to draw closer to Jesus and help my neighbour become a better leader in his or her church. The blessings we receive from these charitable gifts to our neighbours are too numerous to count.
2 Corinthians 9:7 teaches us that giving should be done with the right attitude and motivation. We should give from the heart, with joy and generosity, and without compulsion or grudgingness. When we give in this way, we are demonstrating our love for God and our commitment to his work in the world. (The Message)
I hope and pray you will find time to sponsor a pilgrim for the up- coming Walks
Men’s Walk # 140 taking place over 10 – 13 October
Ladies Walk #141 taking place over 17 – 20 October
Please help to fill these walks!

Jesus told Peter to “feed my sheep”.
Let’s do it!
Please prayerfully consider sponsoring pilgrims.
The deadline for pilgrim applications is two weeks prior to the event taking place – 26 SEPTEMBER 2024.
GATHERING
One of the best ways to stay connected with your Emmaus Ministries community is to attend a Gathering. Come on out and join us!
KZN Emmaus Ministries will be gathering at the HILLCREST METHODIST CHURCH on SATURDAY 26 OCTOBER at 10h00
* Please bring a plate eats for a bring-and-share tea and your own lunch.
* Children’s entertainment provided.
This is a great opportunity to refresh and renew your Emmaus experience.
Gatherings offer powerful praise, worship and the celebration of Holy Communion. Gatherers will hear a “Fourth Day” talk, given by a community member who will share the ways in which the Lord has worked in their lives since their own Emmaus experience. Important announcements about upcoming walks and opportunities for service will be made followed by fellowship.
KZN Emmaus Ministries Gatherings are “open” and everyone is welcome to attend, whether they’ve been to an Emmaus Ministries event or not! It is a great way to introduce friends and family members who may be interested in attending a Walk/Flight or an Encounter.
Blessings and prayers,
Nigel
